Foot passengers can take either of the above which run high speed services to Ryde Pier and Cowes respectively or use the Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde Esplanade. www.hovertravel.co.uk
Public transport and taxi services operate from all terminals.
By bus the Southern Vectis number 3 goes to Ventnor town centre every half hour from Ryde and Newport bus terminals.
The number 6 departs every hour Saturday's and less frequently Sunday's from Newport via Blackgang and stops outside the garden. Check www.islandbuses.info or call 0871 200 2233.
Walking is the greenest, most eco friendly, cost-effective way to get to the festival not to mention to boost your energy levels and shed some pounds. Depending on your level of fitness and where you are staying locally, take with a brisk walk or leisurely stroll and see some of the islands most scenic coastal paths and beaches on your way. Walk from Bonchurch to Steephill Cove via Ventnor Seafront or from Binnel Bay to Orchard Bay via Woody Bay. Alternatively take one of the top paths over the downs and take in the stunning views of our coastline and countryside. Regular walks help alleviate depression, help you sleep soundly, burns fat, strengthens your heart and boosts your immunity. So there you go, it can even help prevent osteoporosis by strengthening your bones.
If you are traveling by bike you probably know there are many lovely trails to follow and it's a lovely way to see the island. Cycling from nearby towns such as Niton, Godshill or Shanklin should take half an hour.
